In a recent post I caught my smallest bass ever. So I thought it would only be fair to post this one. I caught it in the pond behind my grandparents place in Florida, on a tiny beetlespin jig. At first I thought I was snagged on a log, then when instead of running it just started meandering away I thought for sure it was a big turtle. Almost 10 minutes later this hog came up and I could not believe it was a bass.
I am glad I took the picture next to my rod for perspective on how big it actually was, since I didn’t have a scale or tape measure with me.
I’m fighting off a summer cold so I didn’t do my normal 5am Sunday morning fishing trip today. It sure would be great to be out trying to find a bigger bass somewhere around Louisville on this beautiful morning, but it’s off to work I go……
The bright side of not taking an early trip to the water is getting the royal breakfast treatment from my amazing wife. With this awesome breakfast treat of homemade tortilla, refried Beans, egg, cheddar, bacon, avocado, jalapeños, and salsa. All i can say is Yum!

That is a really nice bass. How much do you think he weighed? Looks to be over 10 to me. Congrats!
Thanks, If it wasn’t over 10lbs it had to be real close to it.
